Google has yet another algorithm update in the works that focuses on the accuracy of the content on your website. After this update, Google will not be putting as much weight on the quality of your backlinks but will determine the trustworthiness of a web page by the number of facts it contains.

Google will begin using what they call a “knowledge-based trust score.” They do this by cross referencing the information on each of your website’s pages with the facts that are stored in their knowledge vault, a database of billions of facts that have been extracted from the internet over the years. The more factual information each of your pages contains, the higher your search engine rankings will be. If there isn’t much information about your particular piece of content, Google will use other determining “trust factors.”


3. Be Fast.

How fast your website loads is another factor Google uses to determine your search-engine rankings — not to mention the fact that site speed will also increase your conversion rates and improve the user experience.

According to Moz:

– A site that loads within 5 seconds is faster than about 25% of other websites

– A site that loads within 2.9 seconds is faster than about 50% of other websites

– A site that loads within 1.7 seconds is faster than about 75% of other websites

– A site that loads in 0.8 seconds is faster than about 94% of other websites

5. Be Consistent.

A website that continually shows new information that is building on what was already there is an indication to the search engines that your site is providing its visitors with new and helpful content, giving the searcher what she was looking for. If you’re making that search engine look good because you provided the searcher with exactly what she was looking for, the search engine will give you a higher ranking in return.
